Facebook February Feature #1

Meet Megan Olsen, owner of Cushy Tushy Bum Apparel & More.

Canadian mom Megan Olsen has watched the diapering industry change dramatically over the past few years. When she was pregnant with her second daughter (now 1 year old), Megan came to realize just how positive the changes in the diapering industry had been since her eldest daughter was born four years prior. Megan promised herself that with Baby #2, she would fully commit to the practice of cloth diapering. There, a new fluffy love affair was born. Megan, now a passionate CDing mama, came up with the idea of sharing her new-found love with other families in her community. And so, Cushy Tushy Bum Apparel came to life in September of 2010. Her goals since then remain simple--to simply enjoy what she does every day, to be a responsible steward for the environment, and to help spread her cloth diapering love and know-how to members of her community. In fact, the mission statement for her business is a simple and fun-loving one. She can often be heard saying "let's fluff up all babies' tushies out there!"

Though Megan technically works alone on the business, she couldn't do it without the help of her supportive husband of nine years, Jon. He'll often steal away their young daughters (ages 4 & 1) so that Mommy can get in a bit of business time for herself. Megan also confesses that she feels so supported and loved by friends and community members who are always helping to promote her business and support her in practical ways. Aside from running the online shop, Megan also displays some products at the local baby shop as well as at several fairs and shows.

In her free time, Megan enjoys organizing fundraisers and helping out with several non-profit groups. As a former veterinary assistant, she also loves hanging out with Neo, the family's Blue Merle Australian Shepherd. For now, Megan plans to stay home with the girls while they are young, content with her online shop. However, she dreams of one day owning a real brick-and-mortar storefront for Cushy Tushy Bum Apparel in hometown Parksville, British Columbia, where the family plans to stay forever.

This is feature number 1 of 7 for our Facebook February promotion. Read all the features this month and then join us for a Facebook party on Monday, February 28th at 8:00 PM CST, where Megan Olsen and Cushy Tushy Bum Apparel & More will be giving away a FREE MiniMaestro pocket diaper to one lucky winner!
