**CLOSED** Cushy Tushy Shop - MiniMaestro Pocket Diaper Review & Giveaway

This month, I was very fortunate to receive not one but two very cute 'Celery' MiniMaestro pocket diapers from Megan, the owner of Cushy Tushy!

I have really enjoyed working with Megan for the duration of this review process. She had terrific and personable customer service, responding to emails so quickly. I was also impressed by just how quickly she was able to ship out these items, and they reached my house in no time at all. I love that Cushy Tushy is a home-grown CANADIAN company run by a WAHM. I also like that although her shop is online, Megan brings together people from all over the community and web, even having a "gently used" section on her website for people who would like to make sure their barely-used fluff still gets all the love it deserves! I see on her site that she is also planning on expanding to include other WAHM and local links, which I think is so admirable.

Cushy Tushy stocks a wide variety of different kinds of diapers and accessories, from pockets to fitteds to detergent to liners of all kinds. In an effort to help further promote home-grown Canadian products, Megan sent me the MiniMaestro pockets as they, too, are 100% Canadian!

I really enjoyed these diapers. To date, I have only ever tried one-size pocket diapers, whereas these pockets are sized. Cushy Tushy stocks MiniMaestro diapers in the following size options:

x-small 6-12lbs waist: 7-12.5in
small 7-16lbs waist: 7.5-14in
medium ‘slim’ 12-22lbs waist: 9-16in
medium 14-25lbs waist: 9.5-18in
large 22-35lbs waist: 12-22in

For 16lb Aurelia, Megan sent me two Medium 'Slim' diapers to try out. These diapers, as their name suggests, fit much more slimly than their regular Medium counterparts. Although they perhaps won't last you as long when you get them on the tail end of the medium size (like I did), they did fit so nice and snugly in the waist (especially under slim-fitting pants, or in that dreaded carseat-snowsuit combo that us cloth-diapering Canadians wrestle with in the winter). Because these are also sized diapers, I also like that you don't get the added bulk from having to snap up the rise like you do on other one-size pocket diapers. Overall this was a very trim diaper, and it looked so cute on! For my bigger-bellied little girl, though, I do think the Regular Medium would make a better long-term diaper as it adds a full 2 inches to the waistband. So for those of you who are thinking of ordering, I would definitely consider the (growing) size of your baby's tummy as you decide between the Slim and Regular fit.

I also loved how easy this diaper is to use. The majority of diapers in my stash right now are snaps because I haven't been crazy about the hook & loop varieties I've tried in the past (due to laundry chains and wear & tear on other diapers from pilling and snagging). I was a little worried when I threw these in the laundry with my other cute and delicate diapers. However, I am thrilled to report that these were amazing! They have each gone through the laundry a bunch of times now and the laundry tabs have NEVER come undone, even through various vigorous washes and rinses (as well as in the dryer the first time I washed them; I always machine dry all my diapers the first time I get them, as it helps seal up any microscopic holes there may be in the PUL from manufacturing).

As for ease of use, having no rise snaps and no waist snaps really makes this diaper as easy to put on as a disposable! Just pull the tabs over and fasten!



I also love the soft, stay-dry microfleece inner of this diaper. When combined with the highly absorbant bamboo/microfiber combo inserts, we never had any leaks of any kind with this diaper. Aside from loving the fact that MiniMaestro is also made right here in Canada, I also love that they have supremely ethical manufacturing processes and a great respect for the environment. A great diaper always seems even that much greater on baby's bum when you know the standards used to make it have been upheld so highly.

Overall, I would highly recommend purchasing a couple of MiniMaestro diapers (or any other diapers, for that matter!) from Cushy Tushy's online shop.
